Staff Development

Staff development usually means training on the curriculum or safeguarding and that’s it. But that is quite a restrictive (and damaging) attitude.

Teachers and school staff can significantly benefit from other aspects of computer training too. Handing over one-hour of a staff meeting to teach staff computer fundamentals might save them 30+ hours of work when it comes to report writing or collating assessment data at the end of the year. 

Not only that, but teachers simply must be confident in modelling everyday computing usage to the children. As every maths training course says, “You wouldn’t say ‘I’m terrible at reading’ to the children, so don’t say ‘I’m terrible at computing’.”
